Who Should Wear Diabetic Shoes?
If you are Diabetic and enrolled in Medicare or one of the many health insurance plans, you may be eligible to receive one pair of diabetic shoes and three pairs of custom inserts every calendar year. Eligibility criteria is identified below and must be approved by your primary care physician. One of our certified diabetic shoe fitters will call you to measure your feet and perform an extensive foot exam We also take an impression of your foot so that custom inserts can be manufactured specific to your feet.

What is Covered by Your Insurance?
Medicare and Private Insurance typically cover 80% of the cost
of the following (per year):
One pair of Diabetic Shoes
3 pairs of custom inserts

Eligibility

  • The patient must have one or more of the following conditions:
  • Poor circulation
  • History of pre-ulcerative callus
  • Foot deformity
  • Peripheral Neuropathy with evidence of callus formation
  • History of previous foot ulceration
  • History of partial or complete amputation of the foot

In addition, your primary care physician must examine your feet within 6 months of receiving your shoes and inserts.
